So, in the 80′s, when arcades were great, coin-op manufacturers would distribute flyers to arcade operators to pimp their new wares. You can find a huge collection of these things at The Arcade Flyer Archive – go and have a browse, it’s an interesting trip down memory lane.
Some of these flyers are perfectly normal: A bit of promotional art, a screenshot or two, but a select few would try to take promotion to a whole new level…
Some, such as Konami, would photograph big-haired models carrying a gun or lolloping over the cabinet, sometimes there’s just something a little bit “off” with the artwork, sometimes… I have no fucking idea what they’re doing.
Nice to see Mortal Kombat was in no way promoted toward kids…
