Two special editions of Resident Evil 6 have been spotted on Amazon – one for PlayStation 3 and one for Xbox 360 and will set you back around £60.
Both versions include a variety of Resident Evil titles, however close observers will note that the PS3 version is clearly the better option in terms of content.
PS3
- Resident Evil 6: The newest chapter in the Resident Evil franchise brings three separate yet interwoven storylines together as they fight to survive the global C-virus outbreak.
- Resident Evil Director’s Cut – Return to the mansion that started it all! The S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team has been sent to the outskirts of a remote Midwestern city to investigate a number of grisly murders. Little do they know the worst is yet to come.
- Resident Evil 2 – The T-virus has consumed Raccoon City leaving rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield stranded in a city overtaken by zombies and powerful B.O.W.s (bio-organic weapons).
- Resident Evil 3: Nemesis – With Raccoon City crumbling, Jill Valentine’s last escape is stopped dead by a monstrous B.O.W. known as the Nemesis, who’s programmed to eliminate the last remaining members of S.T.A.R.S.
- Resident Evil 4 HD – The President’s daughter has been kidnapped and Leon S. Kennedy is on assignment and back in action in Europe to track her down and investigate a mysterious cult coming to power.
Xbox 360

- Resident Evil Degeneration (DVD feature film) – The deadly G-Virus is unleashed and a new mutated monster goes on the rampage. Will Claire and Leon be able to terminate the virus before history repeats itself ?
- Resident Evil 4 HD – The President’s daughter has been kidnapped and Leon S. Kennedy is on assignment and back in action in Europe to track her down and investigate a mysterious cult coming to power.
- Resident Evil CODE Veronica X HD – While searching for information on her missing brother, Claire Redfield is trapped on a top-secret Umbrella prison installation on Rockfort Island.
- Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition – Working together with his partner Sheva Alomar, Chris Redfield is sent to Africa in response to reports of parasitic B.O.W.s (bio-organic weapons) terrorizing the area.
Why Xbox 360 owners are getting a raw deal is anyone’s guess.
Looks good! Having never had the chance to play the originals myself (I think I was slightly too young to appreciate it…) I might look into getting the PS3 one just so I can try them.
Maybe Xbox isn’t as good a deal since the originals were on PS1? You know how game companies are and their exclusives…?
I bet my left arm the PS3 version just comes with codes to download the PSone games off PSN.
So when you think of it that way, I actually think you get more value in the 360 version. On 360 you get Code Veronica & Resi 5 and these two are worth more money that Resi 1, 2 & 3
I suspect RE4, Code Veronica and RE5 will be codes too, (the first two games most certainly), with maybe Degeneration as a separate DVD, but RE1, 2 and 3 are superior Resident Evil games and RE4 is also coming with the PS3 version. The quality of the content should be the deciding factor here in terms of value, irrespective of price.
Would be nice to have it all on separate discs though, but I doubt it will happen.
