Why not have a browse, relive your youth, then become bitter about how everything’s all turned to shit.
Rosetintedgamers.com is a website focused on giving you the best in slightly snarky news, reviews and previews from the world of videogames.
Remember when games were a wonderful world of blocky graphics and blue skies? When magazines didn't take themselves so bloody seriously? We do. Then again, we're old.

Hmmm, by the looks of it, the last one I bought was March ’99 – Issue 69.
Have I missed much since then?
Edge wasn’t always a riveting read, but of recent it’s become a real bore-fest. I don’t even bother standing in WHSmith to read it now.
The biggest problem with gaming magazines is that they’re way to expensive for what you get – which isn’t a lot. I recently bought the latest Retro Magazine for £4.99, the first mag I’ve bought in years. There was a Tekken article I wanted to read that, sadly, turned out to be rather dull. Read less than half of the rest of the mag, (mainly the several page spread on School Daze), before slinging it on the staff room magazine rack.
The only real reason to read edge was because that’s where all the games industry jobs were advertised.
I have a sub to Edge on Zinio. The reviews are generally good, and I like the general quality of the articles about gaming.
However, it doesn’t quite hold a match to the no-holds-barred attitude on offer at rosetintedgamers. ;)
Can anyone remember the magazine Maximum?
I remember it had some great full page game art work within and it read more like an art book than a regular game magazine.
Alas, nobody bought it and it was dead after a few issues.

Foe me, the best mags were Sega Power, Mean Machines and the official Saturn Magazine.
