Lead designer of The Old Republic, Daniel Erickson, leaves BioWare.
Daniel Erickson, lead designer behind BioWare’s MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic has quit the studio.
Revealing the news on twitter, Daniel appeared to hit out and those in the industry who believe social, mobile and free-to-play was the future for many titles.
“As part of leaving BioWare I’m officially starting a twitter account for job hunt and design thoughts,” he said.
“When 90% of the industry is saying the exact same thing (social, mobile, FTP!) a huge number of people are going to lose that race.”
Why Daniel has left the company is unknown, however having interviewed him at last years Eurogamer Expo I’m sure his reasons are sound as he seemed like a rather pleasant chap.
The departure of the SWTOR lead designer comes shortly after BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk also left the studio.
